Ukraine2UK is providing financial support to Ukraine community volunteering projects based in Poland that supply humanitarian aid to badly affected regions of Ukraine. These include provision of camouflage nets used to protect supplies, medicines and equipment from drone attacks, and also warm clothes, tinned foods and candles needed for areas affected by power cuts. We also support frontline medical relief.
Each of these cross-border projects serve as examples of the impact that can be achieved through mission-driven volunteer-led initiatives. We hope to continue to support their work.
Awangarda Foundation
Awangarda Foundation, headquartered in Poland, provides emergency medical relief at the frontlines of some of the worst affected areas of Ukraine. Their international team of volunteer medics often go into areas that other medical organisations are unable or unwilling to. We have provided funding for medical and healthcare supplies.
Fundacja Siła Jedności
This Ukrainian volunteer team are based in Lublin and provide support both to Ukrainians that have sought refuge in the city, as well as sending supplies into hard-hit parts of Ukraine. This has included winter supplies and torches that are critical during power cuts caused by bombardment. They also provide language classes, helping refugees and volunteers to become more self-sufficient. We have provided financial support.
Odwaga nie zna granic
Since the war outbreak, Ukrainian volunteers in Warsaw have been making camouflage nets that protect and transport supplies in frontline areas from drone attack. This includes sheltering of medical aid, food and other resources critical to defending cities and protecting lives. Along with packs of nets, the team also send supplies of medical kits, snack packs, and clothing. They now have several busy volunteer hubs in Warsaw. We have provided financial support, and the team has also taught volunteers in England to host net-making gatherings.
